Cone Beam – CBCT

Having accurate and complete information is important for your doctor to plan your restorative treatment. 3D Cone Beam Imaging is fast, simple and completely painless. With a single 10-second scan your dentist can see computer-generated views of the bones and tissue of your face, teeth, jaw and head. Your Johnson Dental dentist can then call up whatever views they need on a computer monitor: 2D, 3D, “panoramic” views of your entire mouth, even sequences like pages in a book. They can view your images from any angle and in different magnifications, to see the relationships between bones, teeth, airways, nerves and tissues; and to plan or evaluate your treatment. 3D Cone Beam Imaging does all of this while operating with a lower dose of radiation than traditional CT scan!  Your comfort, safety and overall health are always our top priority and we are proud to bring this outstanding technology to our patients.

Digital Radiographs (X-Rays)

Digital radiographs are a technological advancement that has become the standard of care.  Exposure to radiation is drastically lower for our patients when compared to the traditionally processed radiographic films.  Digital radiographs produce an almost instantaneous image for our dentists that shows more detail and can be archived in our system for future reference and comparison. With no waiting to “run” films, you will appreciate a highly efficient and more comfortable experience.

WHY DO I NEED RADIOGRAPHS (X-RAYS) EVERY YEAR?

Radiographs help us to detect various potential problems early in their development, when they are difficult to see with the naked eye. Tooth decay, infection, bone loss, and other pathologies can be halted and reversed (or the damage minimized) if we catch them early enough.

At Johnson Dental, we offer digital radiographs. Digital radiographs use less radiation and are safer for you than traditional film X-rays. In our dental office, you will find that we research the latest trends in technology to find the optimal solutions that promote your overall health, safety, and comfort.

Johnson Dental is excited to offer the Isolite System, a revolutionary device designed to make your dental visit easier for both you and your dentist or hygienist. Not only will the Isolite System make your visit more comfortable, it can reduce the time of your visit as well.

The soft flexible mouthpiece protects your tongue and check while allowing you to relax your jaw and close down comfortably during the procedure, relieving the tension of keeping your mouth open. With the Isolite system gently and continuously suctions away water and loose particles, keeping you comfortable and dry when cleaning your teeth, restoring teeth and rinsing your mouth.

The bright LED light source produces superior illumination of the area allowing your dentist to work more quickly and efficiently, getting you out of the dental chair and back to your life. No one loves to have dental work done, but we believe you’ll love the safety, comfort and convenience of Isolite just as much as we do.

The SOPROCARE Intraoral Camera

The SOPROCARE intraoral camera is a compact wand-like camera that produces magnified high-resolution images of the various structures inside your mouth. The Johnson Dental team values the overall health and wellness of our patient family. Early detection is key to achieving and preserving your oral health. This camera has multiple camera modes to help identify the presence of both tooth decay and gingival inflammation – helping both doctor and patient visualize the proper path to your desired level of oral health. Picture the improved oral health you can have with the help of the SOPROCARE Intraoral Camera!

SOPROCARE Camera Modes:

Cavity Detection

The SOPROCARE’s “CARIO” mode uses unique fluorescence technology to illuminate teeth and reveal tooth decay that may not be visible with the naked eye. This high-definition view of your teeth allows you to see what your dentist sees and aids in providing you the best possible dental examination.

Gingival Inflammation Detection

The SOPROCARE’s “PERIO” mode utilizes a light with a specific wavelength highlighting old plaque, new plaque, and the presence of gingival inflammation.  This information along with the clinical information from the evaluation, helps your dentist or hygienist diagnose gingivitis or periodontal disease. This can also be instructional tool for patients to achieve more effective home care techniques.
