Porcelain Veneers

Many of the smile makeovers you see on television or in magazines are the result of porcelain veneers. These custom-made, thin strips of porcelain are adhered to the front of existing teeth to create a natural, beautiful smile. Issues like crooked teeth, chipped teeth, gaps in teeth, and discolored teeth are all easily correctable with porcelain veneers. Just a few appointments are all that separate you from the beauty and self-confidence that come from a brilliant smile! For porcelain veneers Northfield MN contact us today.

Teeth Whitening

Imagine removing surface stains and having the white smile you had when you were a teenager! Anyone can have the confidence that comes from having a dazzling, white smile. Tooth whitening with Johnson Dental is safe, effective, and long lasting.

Professional Custom Teeth Whitening
There is also a take-home whitening kit available. Your customized kit includes a special tray, similar to a mouthguard, which holds a powerful whitening gel. This whitening process can be completed safely in a period of several weeks. The results received from this type of whitening often are more profound and consistent than the in-office variety. The additional benefit is that you will be able to achieve your dream smile from the comfort of your own home. Talk with Drs. Aaron and Kristi Johnson for help in deciding which whitening procedure is right for you.

Bonding

Bonding refers to the placement of tooth-colored resin to correct chipped and broken teeth, discolored teeth, and in some cases, spaces between teeth. Bonding is generally considered more conservative than veneers or other cosmetic dentistry. The benefits of bonding include the ability to maintain the natural structure of the tooth and the ability to color and sculpt the resin to create natural looking teeth. Like a natural tooth, the resin may stain with the use of coffee or other staining foods.

Porcelain Bridges

Sometimes gum disease, injury, decay, or simply wear results in the loss of a tooth. A missing tooth or teeth can create significant problems for your dental health if not corrected. Over time, your biting pressure may shift to other parts of your mouth to compensate for an inability to chew efficiently in the area of the missing tooth. Neighboring teeth may begin to shift and tip, moving into the area and resulting in discomfort, pain, and more problems down the road. Bridges made of porcelain will “bridge the gap” in your smile. Drs. Aaron and Kristi Johnson can create a lifelike, functional bridge, which will correct your smile, restore your bite, and alleviate your discomfort. A bridge utilizes the teeth on both sides of the gap as its supportive structure. After some preparation of the two neighboring teeth, crowns are created for them. A natural-looking, porcelain tooth is then fused between the crowns to fill the area of missing tooth and to recreate your beautiful smile.

Porcelain Crowns

Your teeth undergo a tremendous amount of stress during your lifetime. Teeth may show this wear in a variety of ways, including discoloration, chipping, and cracking. Crowns restore your teeth and smile to look brilliant once again. Porcelain crowns are shaped and shaded to match your teeth flawlessly, and are made to feel as genuine as your natural teeth. After some tooth preparation, crowns are specifically fitted over your natural tooth structure – restoring functionality and enhancing the appearance of your smile. And, Johnson Dental offers you CEREC® porcelain restorations, which only take a single visit to complete. You may also elect to have a gold crown customized to fit your smile. If you have pain when chewing or temperature sensitivity, ask Drs. Aaron and Kristi Johnson if crowns are right for you.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

If you need a filling for a cavity, or if you are embarrassed about your smile because of dark, metal amalgam fillings on your back teeth, you may be interested in tooth-colored fillings. A tooth-colored filling is a special, tooth-colored resin that is strong and virtually invisible. Tooth-colored fillings offer several advantages to you compared to traditional silver fillings. First, Dr. Aaron or Dr. Kristi Johnson will blend composite shades and shapes that match your original teeth nearly perfectly. Then, the resin bond will actually serve to support the remaining tooth structure, preventing breakage, and creating a seal that provides insulation against temperature changes and leaking. You may even want to replace all of your old fillings, broadening and brightening your smile in the process!
